Learn basic Bahasa Indonesia

The official language of Indonesia is known as Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Langauage) and even though there are 750 languages and dialects which are also spoken throughout Indonesia, they are united as a nation by Bahasa Indonesia, the official language of the country.

Lombok and the Gili Islands have their own official language which is known as ‘Sasak’, however you will find Bahasa Indonesia is spoken on both Lombok and the Gili’s due to there being many Indonesians who come from all over the country to work on the Gili’s and Lombok.
